UNE SRI open evening for students

  • UNE SRI, NOVA 122 Faulkner Street Armidale, NSW, 2350 Australia (map)

Discover how the SMART Region Incubator can support your research, ideas, and career. Have you ever wondered what your research or ideas could look like beyond university? Whether there's a pathway to real-world impact, industry connection, or even a business?

The UNE SMART Region Incubator (SRI) is the university's home for innovation and entrepreneurship and we're opening our doors so you can see what we're all about.

On the night, you'll:

  • Learn who we are and how we support students, researchers, and founders

  • Discover how to connect your research or ideas to commercial and real-world opportunities

  • Hear about EMERGE – our researcher commercialisation program running in June

  • Meet Lloyd Thompson, UNE's Research Commercialisation Manager

  • Find out about pitch practice sessions – great prep for the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition

  • Explore internship opportunities with the SRI and our founder community

  • Learn about our masterclasses and early-stage business programs

  • Get the details on NOVA Student Membership – coworking access, reduced-rate event space hire, a spot in town for meetings or study groups, and 50% off SRI events (on top of student pricing)

Who's this for?

This event is open to all UNE students, but will be particularly valuable for PhD and HDR candidates exploring commercialisation, industry pathways, or what's next for their research.

No business idea required. Just curiosity.

Pizza provided. We'd love to see you there.
