Pitch yourself without the spiral: Workshop with Chloe Spillane
We've all been there. Someone asks "So, what do you do?" and suddenly your brain goes blank, your words come out jumbled, and you walk away with that sinking feeling that the message didn't land.
Whether you're pitching your business to a potential customer, introducing yourself at a networking event, or walking into an interview, being able to talk about yourself with clarity and confidence is one of the most valuable skills you can develop.
That's why we brought Chloe Spillane to Armidale to deliver a Pitch Yourself Workshop – a hands-on session designed to help founders, freelancers, students, and career changers own the moment when it counts.
Fresh perspective, practical playbook
Chloe recently returned from several months in New York, where she worked from coworking spaces, attended events, introduced herself to strangers, and practised the ask until it opened doors and new opportunities. That sprint gave her a sharp perspective on what makes a pitch cut through – and why practice in live rooms matters.
She brought that playbook to Armidale, sharing what works (and what doesn't) when you've got one clear shot to make an impression.
From awkward to confident
Six participants joined the workshop, working through activities and worksheets designed to help them:
Build a pitch that doesn't sound like it was copied from LinkedIn
Say what they actually do and why it matters – with clarity and confidence
Know which parts of their story to share (and which to leave out)
Speak to their audience the right way, whether it's a client, investor, or hiring manager
Take the nerves down a notch when the stakes are high
But this wasn't just theory. By the end of the session, every participant stood up and delivered their pitch to the group – confidently and clearly communicating their idea to the room.
That's the transformation: walking in unsure how to talk about yourself, and walking out with words that feel natural, uniquely you, and ready to use.
Cringe-free and confident
Chloe's style is direct, warm, and practical. She creates a space where people can practice without judgment, refine their message in real time, and leave feeling genuinely prepared – not rehearsed or robotic, but confident and authentic.
