Coffee, conversations and accidental connections

Founder catch up at DEVA Chocolate Cafe, Tamworth

Sometimes, the most meaningful events are the least flashy… which was certainly the case at our recent Tamworth Founders catch up.

Gathered around a long wooden table, complete with great coffee and a few cheeky croissants, a handful of business owners left their laptops at home for the morning and chose connection instead.

On Thursday, 19th June, we hosted a casual catch up for founders at DEVA Chocolate Cafe. The conversations drifted from weekend plans to pricing strategies, back to the juggle of life, and then onto marketing mishaps and wins.

This wasn’t a networking event (we’re a bit allergic to those words, too). It was just a check-in. No pressure to pitch. No updates required. Just a space to be around other people who get it, the figuring-it-out-as-you-go-ness of building your own business.

These meetups, as simple as they seem, are one of the quiet ways we support our founder community here at the UNE SMART Region Incubator. Because sometimes the best ideas don’t come from the stage. They come over coffee, on a Thursday morning when no one’s trying too hard.

If you’re a founder in our community (or thinking about becoming one), you’re always welcome.

Keep an eye out for future founder catch-ups on our upcoming events page.
