Are your students ready to tackle real-world agricultural problems using Artificial Intelligence? Join us for Agmentation in Schools, a ground-breaking problem-solving innovation challenge designed for Year 10 and 11 students passionate about Design and Technology, iSTEM, Engineering, Science, Food Technology, Enterprise, Computing, Maths, and Agriculture.

Agmentation in Schools transforms agricultural education across the New England North West, visiting Inverell, Narrabri, Tamworth, and Armidale throughout May 2025. This controlled environment horticulture innovation challenge engages students in hands-on problem-solving, where teams use AI technology to develop solutions for real industry challenges in greenhouse and protected cropping systems. Through guided ideation, solution development, and pitch presentations, students prepare for the September Innovation Summit at UNE SMART Farm, where they can compete for prizes up to $2,000 and potentially present at evokeAG, Australia's premier agtech conference.

This program is proudly delivered by the Department of Primary Industries & Regional Development and the NSW Department of Education under the Targeted Workforce Development Scheme.

What is Agmentation?

Agmentation is a dynamic innovation challenge where teams of 4-6 students dive into grassroots agricultural issues. Guided by AI and the latest in Agtech, students will collaborate to create cutting-edge solutions that could shape the future of food.

This exclusive event is open to Year 10 and 11 students with interests in:
- Design and Technology

- Science
- Food Technology
- Enterprise
- Computing
- Maths
- Agriculture
- Morning tea and lunch provided
- Certificates of participation for all students
- An opportunity for winning teams to attend the Agtech Youth Innovation Summit at UNE SMART Farm on Tuesday, 24th September
- 30 July - Moree Secondary School
- 2 August - Armidale Secondary School
- 8 August - Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School
- 14 August - Narrabri High School
This event is delivered by the UNE SMART Region Incubator with support from leading Agtech founders. Due to limited numbers per school, additional places will be offered based on availability.
